The short version: Skunk Audio does not have accounts, does not have a server, and does not collect personal information. Your projects, recordings and samples stay on your device.
What the app stores
Everything the app creates is written to your device's own storage and never leaves it unless you export or share it yourself:
- Projects, patterns and pad settings
- Audio you record with the app
- Samples you import
- App preferences, such as your theme and tempo
- Local diagnostic logs — a small rolling set of text files recording crashes and audio errors, held on your device so you can attach them to a support message if you choose to. They contain no personal information and are not transmitted anywhere.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Microphone — to record audio. Recording only happens when you start it, and audio is written to your device.
- Audio and media files — to let you import your own samples and to save exports where you can find them.
- Bluetooth — to detect Bluetooth audio devices and headphones so playback routes correctly.
- Notifications and foreground service — to keep audio and recording running reliably while the app is in the background, and to show you that it is doing so.
- Internet — declared for future optional features. The app does not currently transmit your content anywhere.
Analytics and tracking
The app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracking. Nothing about your usage is sent to us or to anyone else.
The browser studio on this website
The browser studio runs entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API. No audio is uploaded, no account is required, and nothing you make there is transmitted to us or stored on a server.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. There are no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers; Google may log that request in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Children
Skunk Audio is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to hold or delete.
Your data, your device
Because nothing is sent to us, there is no account to close and no data for us to export or erase on request. Uninstalling the app removes its data from your device. Export anything you want to keep first.
Changes
If the app ever gains a feature that changes any of this — cloud sync, accounts, or crash reporting that leaves the device — this page will be updated before that feature ships, and the date at the top will change.
